Hormone replacement therapy offers two roads - a singular path of estrogen or a combined track with estrogen and progesterone (combined HRT). More often than not, the combined route holds the majority vote. But here's the catch - the estrogen-only lane could potentially increase the odds of uterine cancer, which is why it's generally earmarked for women who've had a hysterectomy to remove their uterus.
